Inverness Hen Party Ideas
Fancy a bit of a Highland fling? For a very warm welcome in one of the most scenic cities in the world, head to Inverness with your hen party.
Inverness is known as ‘The City in the Highlands’ and is ideal for those hen parties that would like an urban break with easy access to the stunning Highlands. Inverness is easy to navigate, and a great way to appreciate the city is to stroll around the historic old town where you will find the best of the city’s shopping opportunities. Aside from the regular high street stores, Inverness boasts a variety of small boutiques and shops that support local designers and artists. The Victorian Market and the Eastgate centre are definitely worth a visit.
History buffs should take a wander down to the stunning River Ness which is dominated by Inverness Castle and the Cathedral Church of St Andrew. While meandering down the river you are likely to see some of the famous salmon anglers and, if you fancy a fish, you can buy a daily ticket and give it a go! Fans of nature can head out of the city and not only walk through the dramatic Highland scenery around the Moray Firth, but also catch a glimpse of bottlenose dolphins. A trip to Craig Phadrig, a stronghold of the Pictish Kings will offer you dramatic views of the Moray Firth and Inverness itself.
For a post-sightseeing drink, take your Inverness hen party to Hush or Johnny Foxes before dancing the night away in the city’s Miami Nightclub or at Play.
If you don’t want to stay in the city, but rather in a lodge or a country retreat, then the area around Inverness is perfect for having that country/city hen weekend mix. Loch Ness is within easy reach of Inverness and you can ramble (or even take a boat trip) around the loch for a bit of Nessie-spotting. Nature-lovers and wild girls might consider a day trip or an overnight stay in the Cairngorms, then heading into Aviemore for a post-hike drink.
