Situated on the river, Dublin is a city steeped in history and culture. Dublin has produced a host of famous cultural icons from U2, James Joyce and Bob Geldof, and it’s easy to see why. The city is inspirational. A walk through the historic centre of Dublin takes you past the beautiful facade of Trinity College that houses the Book of Kells that has helped to form the ideas of some of the world’s greatest minds and past James Joyce’s house where he wrote Ulysees. For fans of literature, just a short walk from the Dublin Writers’ Museum, the James Joyce centre is a must-see. Those who enjoy their culture in more liquid forms should head to the Guinness Factory where you can sample Dublin’s most famous beverage after an entertaining tour of the premises.

Shoppers won’t be disappointed in Dublin with a host of designer and high street brands to choose from on O’Connell Street, as well as being home to some browse-worthy outdoor markets like the Designer Mart at Cow’s Lane. A great place to break your shopping trip is Bewley’s Coffee Shop, which is said to serve the best coffee in the city.

Dublin is famous for its nightlife and in particular its live music scene. For a selection of lively bars and pubs, head to the Temple Bar area of the city where you will experience real Irish hospitality at its best. The area is filled with live music venues that will give you a taste of Ireland; amongst the most famous are The Irish House Party and The Brazen Head. I’ve been meaning to send this email since last weekend but I think it’s taken me this long to get over it! We had a fantastic time and everyone really enjoyed the pin-up hen party dance class in Cardiff! Our teacher Lana L’amour was superb and made the whole afternoon very fun and enjoyable! We even used some of the moves we learnt later on in the evening when ‘Candy Man’ was played! Please pass on my thanks to Lana and also thank you to you for organising it all
